Late last year, after applying, attending selection events and then waiting for what felt like forever, 4 Scouts from 1st St Neots were selected to form part of the Cambridgeshire contingent to attend the 25th World Scout Jamboree in Korea! Over 15 adults and 150 young people applied, so we’re very proud of them being selected to represent us!

For 2 weeks in August 2023, two of our Leaders (Adam and Catherine), a Scout (Felix), and a Young Leader (Billy) will join 40,000 other Scouts from around the world at the jamboree site in Saemangeum, Korea.

The jamboree will packed full of cultural experiences, activities, friendship, laughter and many other emotions on what will be an experience of a lifetime!

They will also spend another week visiting Seoul and other cultural sites to take our the full Korean experience. The detail of what this will be is yet to be unveiled.

This isn’t just a three week jamboree as there is lots of training camps to be had getting all the Scouts prepared for the jamboree experience, how to work as a newly formed team and getting the most from the time away. Scouts also have a significant fundraising effort to achieve. Young people need to raise £3,895 and Adults £3,495. This covers the jamboree itself, travel, insurance, etc. and mostly important supports Scouts from less-developed countries to attend.

The whole Group is excited to join our Scouts on this journey leading up to, attending and following the jamboree which will include whole Group activities.
