1st St Neots Scouts Group delivers #SkillsForLife to children and young people between the ages of 6 and 18 who live near our base in Bedford St, St Neots, Cambridgeshire.
1st St Neots is one of the oldest Scout Groups in the county and indeed one of the oldest in England. We were formed on 13 May 1910, just three years after Scouting was founded, and have been providing Scouting opportunities for young people ever since.
When the Group was first established, meetings were held in a room at the old Paynes Brewery. In 1936, we moved into our own headquarters, built with the support of a £50 grant from the King George Trust Fund.
In recent years, we have completed a major redevelopment programme that has transformed our facilities. The project doubled the size of our headquarters, providing two activity halls, a fully equipped kitchen, and modern toilet facilities. The building has also been fitted with solar panels to improve sustainability and help reduce our environmental impact. Alongside improvements to the grounds, these developments ensure that 1st St Neots can continue to provide high-quality Scouting experiences for generations to come.
We currently have over 100 youth members and an adult volunteer team of about 40.

We have a Squirrel Drey, two Beaver Colonies, two Cub Packs, two Scout Troops and a Explorer Unit for 14-18yr olds.
- Squirrels is for boys and girls aged 4-6yrs.
- Beavers is for boys and girls aged 6-8yrs.
- Cubs is for boys and girls aged 8-10½ yrs.
- Scouts is boys and girls from 10½ – 14½ yrs .
- Explorers is for young people between the ages of 14 and 18.
