1st St Neots is a long-standing and growing Scout Group in the town with over 100 young people benefiting each week supporting by over 30 amazing adults.
Like all charities, our Group has a committee of trustees whose functions is to ensure the Group runs smoothly and safely whilst also ensuring our Leaders have the funds and resources to provide an amazing programme.
As the Group’s Chair, you’ll head up the Executive Committee, making sure the Executive’s meetings are run effectively with outcomes implemented to support the Group, and work closely with; the Group Secretary to prepare for meetings, the Group Treasurer to ensure the finances are reported regularly, the Group Scout Leader to ensure young people and adults are suitably supported.
Our Executive Committee meets every other month so volunteering for this role is flexible around those dates.
By being part of the Executive Committee, you also become one of our charity trustees. All our committee members have access to a training package relevant to their role, mostly self-led over 2 years so don’t worry if you think you don’t have the skills, knowledge or experience. All we ask is that you’re a team player with a can-do attitude and passionate about developing a great environment for Young People and the community to flourish.
