Explorers

Welcome to St Neots Explorer Scout Unit. We are based close to St Neots Town Centre in Cambridgeshire and are a unit of 14-18 year olds who enjoy doing something different, fun and with some useful skills learnt on the way.

The main part of the Explorer programme is that it is planned by the Explorers themselves. This means that as a group; you can choose what activities, games and sessions are to be run which allows a wide variety over the standard Scouting term.

What we do

We take part in archery, games nights with other local units, pioneering, swimming competitions as well as more country-wide events such as Dragnet in the Lake District, unit & district Camps, weekends away and much more.

You will also pick up some valuable skills along the way whether it is socialising with new people, helping out at community events (such as bag-packing at the local shops) or learning how to cook food you wouldn’t normally tackle.

Other opportunities

There is also the opportunity as an Explorer to take part in Schemes such as the Scouting Young Leader, where you can assist with the younger Scouting groups, as well as being able to run alongside the Duke of Edinburgh Scheme if you wish.

You have the honour of being part of a well recognised and respected group with Explorers both within the unit, within the Scouting Family and in the local community.
